Consistent Void-Free Products

Mepaco’s Continuous Vacuum Stuffer is engineered to remove entrapped air from both fine and coarse ground products prior to downstream forming or portioning. By applying a controlled, continuous vacuum throughout the stuffing process, the Vacuum Stuffer produces a firmer, denser, and more uniform product structure.

Air removal with consistent 29″ Hg vacuum, improves protein binding and product cohesion, resulting in consistent product integrity and yield performance. Product color, temperature, and texture are maintained through gentle handling and reduced exposure to oxygen, supporting consistent quality and extended shelf life.

Unlike batch vacuum systems, Mepaco’s continuous vacuum operation eliminates the need for intermittent vacuum cycles. This design increases overall line efficiency by maintaining uninterrupted product flow while reducing handling steps. Fewer transfers and open exposures also help lower the risk of product contamination, supporting sanitary design principles and food safety objectives.

The result is a high‑performance stuffing solution that improves yield, consistency, and throughput while simplifying operations in high‑volume production environments, including:

  • Significant production capacity—up to 36,000 lbs/hr
  • Increased product density and yield with no voids
  • Improved product uniformity and appearance
  • Enhanced product color
  • Constrained bacterial growth
  • Longer product shelf life
  • Built to USDA specifications with durable 304stainless steel construction
  • Designed for low maintenance and minimal replacement parts

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the product and application, but an example for an emulsified luncheon meat can produce up to 36,000 lbs/hr.

Meat, baking, pet food, prepared foods, dairy and confectionery processing industries.

Mepaco’s Vacuum Stuffer is designed to pull and maintain full vacuum (29″ HG.) Vacuum can vary depending on barometric pressure and elevation.

Yes, product have better color and there are no voids in cased product.

The standard configuration is not adjustable, but it is an option.

Different motors are available depending on the viscosity and density of the product.

With a hi-low level probe.

Yes, the feed pressure is adjustable from 0% to 100%. Load sensing is automatic.

Yes, see above images or Mepaco catalog.

Yes, Bush is standard and a Vane or Water Ring will be specified depending on the application.

Yes, the stuffer comes with a self-contained hydraulic pump.

Yes, electric models are often specified in continuous running applications.

The stuffer can be set up for single batches or continuous operation.

When the probe is not working properly, you need to adjust sensitivity. Product moisture, consistency and density can affect the sensitivity of the probe. For technical support, contact the Service 360 team.

There are several possibilities why the pump may not be working correctly. Check for signs to see if the housing is worn. Also, check to see if the vanes are worn.  The motor or hydraulic pump may also need service. Check for physical wear on housings and vanes. Check the flow meter on the hydraulic motor or the hydraulic pump may need service. Contact Service 360 for support if needed.

If the vacuum is not holding, check for worn shafts, seals and gaskets. The gaskets may not have been installed properly. Check to see if the vacuum pump needs service. Call Service 360 for more information.

Our standard size is a 6″ or 8″ diameter.

Yes, but it would not be efficient for most applications. Vacuum works with product being pulled through the inlet. For testing applications, a stuffer could be manually filled, but there would be a wait for the vacuum.

We’ve seen both ways. After the stuffer takes all the oxygen out of the meat and the texture is different. Seals must be maintained in the emulsifier otherwise oxygen goes back in and the particle definition is different.

Conduct a saline solution test. The higher the salt solution, the less it floats.
