Apache Stainless has a long-standing reputation for manufacturing distillation columns for various industries, including pharmaceutical, chemical, food, environmental, and biofuels. In the biofuels segment, Apache has produced storage and distillation columns for ethanol and alcohol byproducts, including spirits, personal care products, medical applications, food and flavoring. As a full service custom manufacturer, Apache also provides internal trays, insulation, cladding, ladders and platforms.
Investment in People, Systems and Technology
People: Apache’s large tanks are complex, engineered-to-order vessel. We are diligent in managing customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle, handling complicated vessels with multiple processes, ASME and other compliance requirements, transport, and installation. Apache’s team of engineering technicians, ASME welders, quality assurance professionals, and field services experts are highly skilled and experienced in this work.
Systems: Apache has made significant upgrades to systems and processes to streamline tasks and maintain effective turnaround times. A recent expansion has organized material flow from incoming materials through fabrication, welding, assembly, and finishing. Large tank projects can be up to 160 feet long and weigh in excess of 70,000 lbs.
Technology: The facility in Beaver Dam, WI is equipped for efficient large tank production, with capabilities for shearing, forming, welding, rolling, and in-house head making. Apache is doubling the size of its passivation and electropolishing facility. The new expansion includes a state-of-the-art Messer Laser featuring fiber optic technology for exceptional speed and superior cut quality.
Supporting the Biofuels Industry
Apache has a long history of supporting the biofuels industry and will once again be exhibiting at the Fuel Ethanol Workshop (FEW) in Omaha, Nebraska from June 9-11, 2025. In addition to distillation columns, Apache has extensive experience manufacturing evaporators, ASME vessels, API-650 vessels, clad vessels, custom mix tanks, and storage tank to support the biofuels industry.
